What are DATEX II and the National Access Point (NAP)?
DATEX II is a European standard for exchanging traffic and travel information. A National Access Point is the national portal where road and traffic data is published, in line with the EU ITS Directive, so that navigation services and other parties can reuse it.
What is a digital twin of a traffic network?
A digital twin is a model of the road network that is fed with real data. It lets operators simulate scenarios, such as roadworks, events or a new circulation plan, and see the effect on traffic before carrying them out.
What is V2X and why does it matter?
V2X (vehicle-to-everything) is communication between vehicles, roadside infrastructure and other road users. It enables services such as signal priority and warnings about hazards ahead, and it relies on connectivity such as mobile networks (5G) or short-range ITS radio.
